When God Shows up

Luke 2:8 Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.  9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid.  10 Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

The shepherds were not the spiritual leaders of the land.  They were regular  people going about their daily business when God showed up.  God sent a message to them as they were going about their normal life.  It scared them at first but they stopped and listened.  When they stopped to listen, they found that the message was Good News and that it would affect more than just their lives.  It was for all people.

Their response allowed them to receive because they were in the posture to believe.  They immediately moved on the word they were given.  They believed and got up and began to move toward the promise. Their desire was to see the substance of what they had heard and hoped for.  As a result of their faithfulness, they found what they were looking for... the Christ Child.

Luke 2:15 So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, "Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us."  16 And they came with haste and found ...

Do you put yourself in a posture to be ready for God to show up?

When was the last time you had God show up at your home or work place to give you a message or a promise?  His showing up is normal.  The delivery of His message may be more fitting for your modern situation but Him showing up should be a constant reality in our lives.

When He shows up there is action that needs to be taken in order to see the fulfillment of the word.  The shepherds stopped, listened and then proceeded to go and see so they found what they had been promised.

Especially during this season of celebration, expect God to show up so you will be ready to go and see the fulfillment come to pass!  Good tidings are for all people.  The Good News is for all people.  Jesus is for all people.
