Welcome to the Keychurch Website!
I am Pastor Jacque Babb. I am the senior pastor and work along with my husband, Perry Babb to bring the life and relativity of a relationship with Jesus Christ into every day life. We are very practical in our approach to the Gospel. We believe that the principles of the Kingdom of God are as living and active as they were in biblical times and that they truly come alive when applied today. The bible is like an owner's manual that helps people navigator through life to stay healthy and gives answers to problems that we encounter during our lifetime.
Natural Vs. "Super"natural
Oct. 03, 2011 By Pastor Jacque Babb, a Pastor of Keystone Church
God
has given us our body, personality, and abilities, some of which we can
improve through our own diligence. We can only imagine how much more we
can accomplish with His supernatural enabling. We have the promises of
God waiting for us. That supernatural enabling begins at our salvation.
Without Christ, we are not connected to God and are limited in our
every endeavor no matter how skilled, smart or handsome we are. With
Christ, we have access to the Holy Spirit who reveals the mysteries of
God to us so that we have insight beyond our natural abilities.
1Th.
5:23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may
your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming
of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Phil. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
The
"super" that I am talking about is salvation, deliverance, grace,
favor, mercy, and wisdom. This is the kind of "super" that brings signs
and wonders of healing and provision into our lives. It brings a peace
that the world cannot understand and that we cannot manufacture
ourselves.
SUPERNATURAL, a. [super and natural.] Being beyond or
exceeding the powers or laws of nature; miraculous. A supernatural event
is one which is not produced according to the ordinary or established
laws of natural things.
(Webster's dictionary 1828)
For example, both Saul and David were kings of Israel. Each had "kingly" natural attributes and a call from God. Saul was unfaithful. He would not embrace the assignment that God had given him, because of that he was tormented through out his life and he died for his unfaithfulness.
1Sam. 18:12 Now Saul was afraid of David, because the LORD was with him, but had departed from Saul.
1Chr. 10:13 So Saul died for his unfaithfulness which he had committed against the LORD, because he did not keep the word of the LORD, and also because he consulted a medium for guidance.
David, on the other hand, regularly inquired of God to direct his steps and when he didn't he, too, got into trouble. They both had natural abilities but their reigns were remarkably different due to their relationship with God.
David was known for his faithfulness to the Lord and when he was not faithful the consequences were clear. He suffered and other people died. But because of his faithfulness he lived a long full life and was a able to leave an inheritance for posterity in the spiritual and the natural.
1Sam. 18:14 And David behaved wisely in all his ways, and the LORD was with him.
2Sam. 8:15 So David reigned over all Israel; and David administered judgment and justice to all his people.
1Chr. 23:1 So when David was old and full of days, he made his son Solomon king over Israel.
Each of us has an assignment from God that fits us. It fits the body, personality and abilities that He has given us. We can improve those parts of us to a measure but never reach our full potential until we recognize and surrender them to Him so that He can empower and direct them. Our choices and actions may not get others killed but they surely determine our fulfilling our destiny and does affect those around us.
Eph. 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
